Here is an A to Z guide on what you need to know about a Prestashop Local installation. Do not hesitate to contact Web2007 for any need.

What are the prerequisites for a local Prestashop installation ?

To install Prestashop locally, it is necessary to start with a web server such as Apache, Nginx, IIS, etc. A database server, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL. A PHP distribution to install on top of it. Are you frustrated? Don't worry, it's easier than it looks. There are tools that allow you to set up all this infrastructure in a single installation. Here are some options: WAMPServer is a Windows application that supports Windows Apache MySQL PHP Server installs Apache, MySQL and PHP and is therefore only compatible with Windows. It has the advantage of being written in French but it is not easy to use and it requires a lot of effort to install. LAMP for MySQL Apache PHP on Linux (don't say you didn't know that?) which works the same on most Linux distributions. MAMP for...did you guess? Macintosh Apache MySQL PHP (or Perl or Python or Ruby but it doesn't work as well). However, it also runs on Windows and is simple to install and use, and it's clearly my preferred choice! MAMP is therefore my choice and it is also the last tool that I will help you install to get started. There is a Pro version which makes it easy to transfer WordPress between your local computer and the hosting server, and save snapshots of your entire environment (files and data) and other nice options, but they are not important for this tutorial! If you intend to create an online store using Prestashop, the best practice is to start by installing the CMS on your personal computer. Find out how you can set up the necessary environment before installing Prestashop 1.7 on your personal computer to start setting up your store with confidence.
