"PrestaShop has been aware that malicious actors have found a way to exploit a major security vulnerability to perform arbitrary code execution in servers running some PrestaShop websites. It appears that this issue only seems to concern shops that are vulnerable to an SQL injection attack.

A patch to correct the identified flaw is now available thanks to the joint work of PrestaShop maintainers and the PrestaShop community. To prevent any of your stores from being attacked, we strongly recommend upgrading them.

Please note that this patch solves the vulnerability identified by PrestaShop, but if a store has already been attacked by hackers, the patch won’t restore its security. We recommend contacting a specialist to perform an audit on your shop, determine if it has been attacked and perform the necessary clean-up if required.

PrestaShop maintainers will continue investigating and evaluating other ways of exploiting this vulnerability that attackers could find. If any other issue was to be identified, we will flag it immediately.
